When is MRI recommended?

• Brain and spinal cord abnormalities
• Tumors and cysts in different parts of the body
• Injuries or joints disorders, e.g. back and knee disorders

Who should not have an MRI?

Patients during pregnancy. Although the negative impact of MRI on the fetus has not been proven, it is not advised to hurry with the research. This is possible only in case of suspicion of fetal developmental abnormalities. Such examinations should only be performed by a qualified physician.

Patients with implanted electronic devices (hearing aids, pacemakers, metal joint prostheses, intrauterine devices, surgical staples).

People whose metal implants aren't firmly fixed to the bone. If metal implants (plates, joint prostheses) are fixed, then MRI can be performed.

Patients with claustrophobia.

How to prepare for an MRI scan?

In preparation for an MRI scan, it's necessary to remove any metal objects from your body. Besides earrings, you will need to remove watches, necklaces, rings, bracelets, and any other jewelry.

Before bladder examination, on the other hand, it is necessary to drink 0,5 l of water.

What will you receive?

You will receive a disc, a film, and a description of your examination by a radiologist. The issuance is carried out within a day from the end of the scan.
